The Strymon Brig is a versatile multi-voice dBucket stereo delay pedal, the second in Strymon's scaled-down stompbox series. It features three expertly emulated analog delay voices: the warm and gritty 3205, the cleaner and softer 3005 with more delay time, and the complex Multi combining two delay lines for rhythmic soundscapes. The pedal provides an intuitive interface with standard time/repeats/mix controls, a distinctive Filter knob, and modulation knobs tailored to each voice. Packed with top-class utility features, the Brig includes artifact-free tap tempo, full MIDI integration, 300 presets, expression pedal input, USB-C, and switchable mono/stereo configurations. The Brig takes tonal cues from Strymon's Brigadier delay pedal but has its own analog character, covering a range from ghostly echoes to grit-laden repeats. The 3205 voice delivers warm analog tones with a capital "A," while the 3005 is based on a dual MN3005 chip, offering a cleaner and softer voice for ambient dreamscapes. The Multi setting provides clean sound and golden ratio timing for complex and rhythmic soundscapes. The pedal also features a dedicated modulation knob finely tuned for each voice, allowing for lush, watery repeats or a lively sense of movement. Additionally, a unique "secret" feature enables a rich bucket-brigade-style chorus when delaying time is turned down on the 3205 voice and modulation is cranked up. The Brig offers artifact-free tap tempo and hands-free expression/MIDI control for real-time adjustments. Despite its smaller size, it maintains Strymon's world-class build and industry-defining tone with a discrete JFET analog front end, stereo input/output, and full MIDI functionality. The pedal's electromechanical relay-switched true bypass operation ensures a 100% uncolored signal when not in use, and it can be switched to buffered bypass mode for longer signal chains. The Brig provides access to full MIDI and USB functionality for remote control, with 300 MIDI preset locations available to save favorite settings.
