The CAD E100Sx is a versatile large-diaphragm condenser microphone suitable for recording vocals, percussion, and acoustic instruments. Its fourth-generation design features a narrow supercardioid pickup pattern, ideal for studio, voice-over, and podcasting applications by focusing audio capture in front of the mic while rejecting background noise. The microphone's sensitive 1" nickel-plated diaphragm delivers accurate phasing for a rich vocal sound with vintage coloration and extended low-end response. An optional 100 Hz high-pass filter and 10 dB pad switch accommodate different recording scenarios, allowing for filtering of low frequencies and handling of louder audio sources up to 136 dB SPL. The included shockmount reduces rumbling noise and vibrations, enhancing the microphone's ability to capture detailed, nuanced recordings. Note that a 48V phantom power source is required to power the condenser microphone element.
