In brief: Humbucking Neck Pickup with 5.0k DC Resistance and 2.24H Inductance - Chrome

The Power'Tron was born out of our desire to create a pickup that has the character of a PAF-style humbucker yet retains the essence of a Filter'Tron. It sounds a little bit darker and somewhat gnarlier, with more windings - as much as a PAF humbucker - for hotter output.

Tone/Characteristics
Mixing the vintage tone of a golden-age PAF with the rockabilly twang of a late-'50s Filter'Tron. Full body and a clear top end that is naturally dynamic. Digging in reveals a chunky low-end breakup paired with a barky top-end grit that sounds amazing through a tube amp. This is a great choice if you like the overall Filter'Tron sound but want more guts and glory than usually provided by lower output pickups.

Output/Power

DC Resistance is not entirely an indicator of true pickup output, although it can be helpful.

Bridge: DCR - 7.8k / Inductance - 4.75H

Neck: DCR - 5.0k / Inductance - 2.24H

Installation:

The Universal Mount is a direct drop-in replacement for guitars with standard sized Filter'Trons - with and without "ears" or "clips". This pickup comes standard with two pieces of compression rubber, 2 mounting (wood) screws, and 1 Universal Mount Clip Pack - which includes everything you will need to mount the pickups to a TV Jones ring or pickguard. 

The Universal Mount can be installed two different ways:

• As a direct drop-in replacement for guitars with standard sized Filter'Trons – use wood screws and compression rubber
• As a replacement for a humbucker mount pickup – attach clips before installing pickup to ring or pickguard

NOTE: The Universal Mount requires one of the following TV Jones rings (unless suspending from a pickguard)

Wiring Notes
This pickup is shipped with 4-conductor wire but is ready for standard 2-conductor connection. The extra red and green wires come soldered together and taped off - to split coils, send these to ground.

Splitting coils works well with the Power'Tron because of its naturally higher output. 4-Conductor wire is also convenient for custom switching i.e. pickups combined in series or parallel.
